Most of us are creatures of pseudo productivity. We enjoy consuming productivity videos, podcasts, or reading book after book. We only consume all of this information, and feel like we are productive, but we forget the most important part, actually assimilating all the wisdom/actions in our lives.Just consumption alone won't build the routine that works for us or automatically start us on the path to a habit we want to cultivate. No, we must take deliberate action, actually do the hard work that is necessary to form a habit, build a routine or to do whatever it is that you wanted from that resource you just consumed.
Why we only consume?
You are a lazy bum. It is comfortable.
Take Action
All we need is to take action.>
Get out of the zone of only learning.Maybe reduce the pace of consumption. Take time understanding what you have read, if you have actually learnt something. Sit with the thought for sometime, think if it fits into your life and will it be a productive addition. Will it make you better? If it will then make it part of how you live, actually bring about the change (which is hard) needed. My favourite resource on building a legendary life (which I have assimilated into my life)Note: Hell, we do not even need any book, podcast, etc. at most times (though sometimes it helps to give a nudge, get us out of a rut, expose us to new ideas). Most of the time we already know what the better action to take is, what is needed to plan out a focused day, what it needs to get in a proper training session or lead a healthy life. All we need is to take the action.
